RIYADH-SABA
The Yemeni government has condemned the Houthi turning back of top UN rights official from the main airport in the rebels-held capital city of Sana'a on Tuesday.
Minister of Information Muammar al-Eryani said the militia's denial of OHCHR representative Elobaid Ahmed Elobaid's entry to Sana'a and ordering of his plane to take off just after landing "is a confirmation of the militia's defiance of the international community and desire to continue brutal atrocities against Yemeni civilians."
The militia's defiant action followed a report by experts commissioned by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights on the Yemeni rebels various abuses, including the sexual violence they subject their women prisoners to.
