Presidential Decisions Bring Historic Gains for Yemeni Women
The recent republican decisions issued yesterday, Thursday, marked a new turning point in promoting the participation of Yemeni women in decision-making positions. The decisions included the appointment of Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zouba as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, making her the first woman in the country's history to hold this sovereign portfolio. Moreover, Dr. Ahd Mohammed Salem Jaasous was appointed Minister of Local Administration, becoming the first woman to take on this ministry since the establishment of the republic.

Marib workshop discusses agricultural researches

The Agricultural Research Station of the Eastern Plateau (Marib - Aljawf) opened a two-day workshop in Marib on Sunday to discuss the outcomes of the agricultural researches of 2017-2018 season and the research program for the 2018 – 2019 agricultural season.

The workshop, an annual tradition discussed the outcomes of the researches and projects carried out by the Station during the last agricultural season and the draft research projects that will be implemented during the next agricultural season.

Deputy Governor of Marib, Dr. Abdu Rabo Miftah and the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Agricultural Research, Dr. Abdullah Alwan, stressed the importance of researches in the development of agriculture.

The Agricultural Research Officer at the Station, Eng. Nasser Al-Maqtari, reviewed what has been achieved last season. He pointed out that the Station carried out 13 researches within four master research projects aimed among any at improving the productivity and quality of field crops, improving productivity and quality of horticultural crops for the sake of livestock and vegetation.
