A number of journalists in Aden held the second consultative meeting on confronting the discourse of hatred and incitement of violence in media outllets.
The event was organized by Manassa Foundation for Information and Development Studies in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in the temporary capital Aden.
The meeting, attended by 15 journalists, discussed a report on hate speech and a draft declaration against it.
The head of the Yemen Journalists Union branch in Aden Mahmoud Thabit stressed the need to confront the discourse of hatred and incitement and the importance of the journalist being committed to the ethics and values of the journalistic work including neutrality, professionalism, and avoiding discriminatory discourse.
