The fourth round of the Arab-Chinese Strategic Dialogue was held in Beijing this morning for discussing political issues of mutual concern and for coordinating the Arab-Chinese political positions.
The discussions focused on the hot issues in the Arab region, including the Palestinian issue, the Yemeni crisis, the situation in both Syria and Libya, the Iranian interventions and combating of terrorism and extremism. The Arab and Chinese delegations to the form showed a high level ofagreement over several issues.
The Arab and Chinese sides affirmed their stand by the side of Yemen's government and their support for a political solution to the Yemeni crisis based on the terms of referenceagreed upon by all the Yemeni stakeholders and supported by the regional and international community.
The Permanent Representative of Yemen to the Arab League Dr. Riyad Al-Akbari delivered a speech in which he stressed the commitment of the Yemeni government to a sustainable peace based on the relevant terms of reference.
Al-Akbari stressed that the Yemeni government and the Arab Coalition backing it were left with no choice but to march on the western city of Hodeidah to capture it from the hands of Houthi rebels after their rebuff o alloffers for their peaceful withdrawal from the city and the port which they use to smuggle in Iranian-made arms.
He also stressed that the military operations are carefully planned and implemented to dislodge the Houthis while ensuring the safety of civilians and preservation of the public and private facilities there.
