CAIRO-SABA
Foreign Minister Abdul-Malik al-Mekhlafi said "the Iranian regime has pushed too far through its proxy, the Houthis, in annihilating Yemenis."
Addressing his Arab counterparts in their emergency session to counter the Iranian interventions in the Arab world at the Arab League HQ in Cairo on Sunday afternoon, he said the regime "supplied the Houthi militias with all types of weapons … which enabled them to overrunthe country's capital and on their way detonate residences, schools, places of worship and public and private facilities."
"Firing the ballistic missile toward Riyadh and the bombing of oil pipeline in Bahrain are all dangerous developments emanating from the Iranian agenda," he said.
He said: "The Iranian interferences come in the context of an expansionist scheme that sets toppling the government and replacing it with a Tehran-aligned sectarian reign as a transitional goal within the master plan for subjecting all the Arab region to the Iranian domination."
"Iran was not satisfied by the Houthi militias' planting of the internationally banned anti-personnel landmines over large swaths of Yemen, but propagated its sectarian ideology to ruin the social fabric and peaceful coexistence in my country," he added.
He said that the Iranian regime could have pursued the good neighborship policy and contribute to regional stability and coexistence with the Arabs "but it opted to behave like terrorist organizations."
