ADEN-SABA
The Information Ministry has expressed its mounting concern over the Saleh-Houthi militias' practices against journalists, lastly the interrogation of 10 journalists in Sana'a preparation fortrying them in courts run by the radical militias.
In a statement, of which Saba obtained a copy, the ministry said: "The persistence of the militias in abusing the rights of the Yemeni journalists and the persistence with unfair trials of the abductees of them in outlawed courts that deprive the defendants of the right to defense is only an additional demonstration of what these sectarian militias are committing against the people of Yemen."
The statement pleaded with the international community and international human rights organizations to do something "to stop the atrocities of the militias and put an end to the suffering of the Yemeni people that is about to finish its third year."
It condemned the militias' atrocities strongly calling on the international community to press the militias into releasing the journalists, allowing visits of relatives to them and stop the militias' manhunt after journalists.
Meanwhile the Syndicate of Yemeni Journalists has denounced the militias' preparations for trying the 10 journalists who have already been in the militias' jails for more than two years.
A press release from the Syndicate said the journalists "have been undergoing violations for more than two years, starting from their abduction and forcible disappearance to torture and denial of healthcare and family visits."
It called on the international organizations to press the militias into releasing them from the radical militias' jails.
