The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Mohammed Al-Saadi, met today with FekitamoeloaKatoa the UN's High Representative and Undersecretary General for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States.
During the meeting, they discussed the support provided to the least developed countries and the role of the High Representative's office in facilitating the financial and technical support for member states to achieve the goals set out in the Istanbul Program of Action for the Least Developed Countries
.
Al-Saadi said that Yemen is experiencing a difficult transitional phase due to the war imposed by the Saleh-Houthi militias, which led to stalling of development and destruction of the infrastructure.
He said that our country is ready to host a branchfor the Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries, a project that will be inaugurated next Friday on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the said countries.
