The United Nations has announced today 139 tons of medical supplies have been delivered to Yemen to be used in curbing the outbreak of cholera in Yemen.
In a tweet, the UN Office for the Coordination of Human Affairs (OCHA) said:A charter plane arrived in Yemen today carrying 139 tons of medical and sanitary supplies to be used for containing cholera."
No further details were given in the tweet.
The World Health Organization's statistics issued a few days ago said that the cholera epidemic has claimed 1750 lives since 27 April. The outbreak is at its worst in Taiz, the province under nearly two-year long siege by the Houthi militias.
