Aden (Saba)-Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Hussein Mohammed Arab on Thursday met here with Director of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Jacqueline Parlevliet.
During the meeting, they discussed the enhancement of cooperation between the Yemeni government and UNHCR with regard to refugees, asylum seekers, and how to receive them and transfer them into refuges.
Arab praised the roles played by UNHCR in Yemen, asserting that the government will provide all facilities and protection to all international organizations working from Aden.
For her part, Parlevliet highly valued the efforts of the Yemeni government to host the refugees and protect them, reviewing updates of returning Somali refugees under a program supported by Salman King Center for Humanitarian Relief.
Parlevliet stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the government and UNHCR in order to serve refugees, asking to resume the work of the immigration and passport authority in the destinations of the refugee arrival.
