Geneva, (Saba) - The shortest solution to end Yemen's crisis is commitment of the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216, Prime Minister Ahamd Obeid bin Daghr has said.
Ignoring these three foundations means prolonging war in Yemen and Yemeni people will not accept this, warned bin Daghr in a meeting with ambassadors of the 18 countries sponsoring the implementation of the GCC Initiative or (G18) on Wednesday on the sidelines of conference's meetings held here for supporting UN-sponsored Humanitarian Response Plan for supporting Yemen.
He asserted that the government has been so keen on implementing just and permanent peace aspired by Yemeni people for establishing the state of equality and justice agreed by all Yemeni political factions, among them Houthi-Saleh's allieance, in the National Dialogue Conference in 2013-2014.
He reaffirmed that the Yemeni government has committed to all international resolutions and supported the UN Envoy Ould Cheikh's efforts for ending the crisis but rebels rejected these resolutions, demanding the UN to commit Houthi-Saleh's militias to carry out these resolutions, specifically Resolution 2216.
He stressed on deposing all revenues at the Yemeni Central Bank in Aden so that the government will honor its commitment towards all Yemenis, saying that the militias have gathered YR 581 billion last year, which are enough to pay salaries of the government's employees for eight months but used them for financing their wars.
Some ambassadors of the G18 talked about their support for realizing peace in Yemen in accordance with the three references, the GCC Initiative, the NDC's outcomes and UN Resolution 2216.
They reaffirmed support to legal authority under President Hadi.
