ADEN – SABA
The MASAM Project implemented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) to clear Yemeni land of mines has removed 798 landmines and explosive remnants of war during the first week of June.
These mines had been planted in several Yemeni provinces by the Houthi terrorist militias, according to the project’s statement.
The statement explained that the items removed included 6 anti-tank mines, 11 anti-personnel and 781 unexploded ordnance (UXO).
This brings the total number of mines and explosive devices cleared by the MASAM Project since its launch to 565,137.
These mines had been indiscriminately planted across various areas of Yemen, posing a serious threat to innocent civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, and spreading fear among local communities.
Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, continues its efforts to clear Yemeni territories of landmines as part of a project aimed at enhancing civilian safety and helping Yemenis live in a safer and more dignified environment.
