Minister of Electricity and Energy Eng. Adnan al-Kaf discussed today, Thursday, in the temporary capital Aden, with the Economic Advisor at the Office of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Yemen, Dirk Jan, the situations of the electricity sector.
The talks focused the challenges facing the electricity sector amid current difficult circumstances, the pressing needs to rehabilitate and develop the electrical network infrastructure, as well as the gradual transition towards reliance on renewable energy, contributing to service stability.
Al-Kaf highlighted the need to secure the daily operational requirements of the "Petro Ma'sila Station", including the provision of 30 oil tankers daily.
The UN Envoy's Advisor stated the UN is interested in supporting the internationally recognized government's efforts to improve basic services, including the electricity.
