The Chargé d'Affaires of Yemen’s Permanent Delegation to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Dr. Ali Mousa discussed Monday with the Secretary-General of the Arab Economic Unity Council Ambassador Mohamadi Al-Ni ways to enhance joint cooperation between the delegation and the council, as well as mechanisms for developing joint Arab action in economic fields and making better use of available resources.

Minister al-Kaf Discusses Strengthening Energy Cooperation with British Ambassador

Minister of Electricity and Energy Engineer Adnan al-Kaf held Monday a virtual meeting with the British Ambassador to Yemen Abda Sharif, discussing with her a number of issues related to electricity sector.

The two parties discussed service conditions and ways to enhance cooperation in the energy field.

The meeting addressed the main challenges facing the electricity sector and the technical issues the ministry is working to resolve.

It also covered efforts to expand renewable energy and attract local and foreign investments, with support from the United Nations Development Programme.

Minister Al-Kaf expressed his appreciation for the United Kingdom’s supportive role toward Yemen and voiced hope for further support for the legitimate government and assistance to efforts aimed at restoring state institutions and easing the suffering of citizens.

He also praised the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and commended the continued Saudi support for Yemen in general and for the electricity sector in particular.

For her part, the British Ambassador affirmed her country’s commitment to continuing its support for the Yemeni government and strengthening investment in the electricity sector.
