Yemen's Meteorological Agency has issued a warning that volcanic ash clouds from Ethiopia's erupting Erta Ale volcano are spreading across the country due to prevailing winds.
The agency urges citizens to take immediate precautions to minimize exposure to the ash, which contains fine particles of rock and volcanic glass.
Recommended measures include staying indoors as much as possible, wearing masks and protective eyewear when outdoors, washing face and eyes frequently, securing water tanks and containers, and gentle cleaning of surfaces after ash settles.
The agency will provide continuous updates and advises relying only on official sources for information.
