Ghana qualified for the 2026 World Cup after defeating Comoros 1-0 in the African qualifiers.

The Ghanaian team topped Group 9 in the qualifiers with 25 points, after achieving eight wins, one draw and one loss.

Mohammed Kudus scored the winning goal in the 47th minute after a cross from Thomas Partey.

Ghana would have qualified even if they lost, as their closest rivals Madagascar stumbled 4-1 in Mali at the same time.

Ghana became the fifth African country to qualify for the North American tournament after Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and
Algeria.
