The Head of the International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Muthanna al-Amiri discussed with the Director of the International Protection Department at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Elizabeth Tan a number of issues related to the affairs of refugees, illegal immigrants and displaced persons in Yemen.

On the sidelines of the Executive Committee meeting of the UNHCR, held in Geneva from October 6 to 10, the meeting addressed the importance of mobilizing support to implement Yemen's pledges made by the Republic of Yemen in December 2023 at the Refugee Pledges Forum.

For her part, the UN official confirmed her understanding of the difficult situation that Yemen is going through.

She pointed out the importance of strengthening cooperation with the Republic of Yemen and neighboring countries to fulfill these pledges and meet the special needs of refugees and the host community.
