Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Nizar Basuhyab, met with the European Union Ambassador to Yemen, Patrick Simonnet, to discuss efforts to support development and economic recovery in the face of the country's economic challenges.
The meeting focused on prioritizing European support for vital sectors in Yemen, particularly projects funded through EU mechanisms and partner international organizations.
The discussions also touched on the challenges faced by humanitarian organizations operating in areas controlled by the Houthi militia.
The meeting reviewed the government's measures to implement financial and economic reforms, rationalize support, and direct it towards priority areas and vulnerable groups.
The possibility of covering funding gaps for nutrition and malnutrition programs for children was also discussed.
