President al-Alimi confers with his Syrian counterpart over bilateral relations

CAIRO - SABA
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) along with the Member of the PLC Sultan al-Arada met today, Tuesday, with his Syrian counterpart His Excellency President Ahmed al-Sharaa, the President of the Syrian Arab Republic.

The Yemeni-Syrian bilateral relations and cooperation was key focus of the conversations which took place on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Arab Summit held in Cairo.

President al-Alimi applauded the historic changes that Syria has seen recently and the Syrian people struggle for building its state and making its bright future.

Al-Alimi stated that he is looking forward to work jointly with al-Sharaa to bring the bilateral relations to a broader horizons in different fields, including reinvigorating the diplomatic representation between the two countries.

The Chairman of the PLC reiterated the supportive stance of the Republic of Yemen in support of the territorial integrity of Syria, its sovereignty and the will of the Syrian people and its aspirations to establish peace, security and stability.

For his part, the Syrian President praised the historic relations between the two countries, underling the importance of closely coordination between the sides to cope with the common challenges.
Al-Sharaa also voiced his appreciation to Yemen, leadership, government and people for their position on the side of the Syrian people.
