The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all its members Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi to discuss national and regional developments and the proposed policies to address them at all levels. The Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani was in attendance.

Leadership Council chairman, European Commission discuss security cooperation and reallocating aid to electricity

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, met today with the European Commissioner for Middle East and North Africa, Dubravka Shojka, on the sidelines of the International Security Conference hosted by the German city of Munich.

Talks went over the latest developments in the local situation, the European and international support required for the Yemeni economy, and reducing the effects of the humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the Houthi terrorist attacks on oil facilities and maritime cargo ships.

The Leadership Council chairman acquainted the European official with the local developments, and the vision of the Leadership Council and the government to achieve comprehensive and lasting peace in Yemen and the region, renewing the call for the European Union to join the punitive measures against the militia as a foreign terrorist organization, and reallocate European aid to secure basic service needed in the country.

For her part, the European Commissioner expressed the Commission's response to seriously addressing the priorities raised by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, including permanent coordination with the government on common security challenges, and reallocating European support to include the electricity and energy sector, and basic services.
