Gold rises on expectations of U.S. interest rate cuts

Gold prices rose transactions, on Tuesday, buoyed by growing expectations of a cut in US interest rates this month.

Spot gold rose 0.1 percent to $2,642.42 an ounce after falling about one percent on Monday.

U.S. gold futures rose 0.3 percent to $2,665.30.

Among other precious metals, spot silver rose 0.3 percent to $30.60 an ounce, platinum settled at $946.60, and palladium rose 0.5 percent to $985.86.
