The Yemeni government and World Bank (WB) discussed today, Monday, Yemen's Report about Climate and Development, which is scheduled to be released on the 5th of this month.
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Waed Badhib and the WB Country Director in Yemen Dena Abu Ghaida led the discussions which covered the climate challenges Yemen has been facing and the subsequent impacts upon development and adaption chances in the sectors of water, agriculture, fishery and renewable energy.
Dr. Badhib described the report as a road map to handle the climate changes. "The report is an important document can serve as a road map to cope with the climate challenges", he stressed.
Abu Ghaida stated that the WB is committed to support the Yemeni government's efforts to adapt to the climate changes through an integral package of technical and finances support. " The report constitutes a strategic framework for joint action in the years ahead", she noted.
