The Republic of Yemen has welcomed the UN Security Council's adoption of a US resolution that calls for a ceasefire in the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
The draft text had been submitted by the United States, in support of the US President’s proposal before it was adopted by a large majority with 14 votes in favour and Russia abstaining - choosing not to veto it.
Yemen's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for the immediate implementation of the ceasefire and for relief aid to be allowed immediate access for the suffering Palestinian people.
