President al-Alimi upon flying to Manama confirms gov't's keenness to urgently solve electricity crisis

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) along with members of the PLC Abdul Rahman al-Mahrami and Othman Mujalli left today, Wednesday, the interim capital Aden heading to Manama to contribute to the 33rd Arab Summit to be convened in the Kingdom of Bahrain tomorrow, Thursday.

The Chairman of the PLC is going to deliver a speech at the Arab Summit which is held amid extremely complicated circumstances with the continuing Israeli brutal war against the Palestinian people.

Prior his departure, the President and the PLC's members held intensive meetings with the government's headship, the Ministers and officials in charge of the economic and financial issues and services, urging doubling down efforts to manage the economic hardships and allay the fellow citizens' suffering.

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) President al-Alimi expressed his deep pain for the economic hardships and tough humanitarian situations that have seriously exacerbated by Iran-backed Houthi militias' terrorist attacks on oil seaports and international shipping lanes.

The Chairman of the PLC asserted that he and his colleagues the PLC's members and the government are fully aware of the severe humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people, including the painful recurrent disruption of electricity supplies with the initiation of summer season.

The President stated that he is deeply interested in getting an urgent solution to the existing electricity crisis, has given his directives to the government to ensure sustainable power supplies and such blackouts never be repeated in the future.
