Oil Minister discusses partnership with EU's commission
[04/03/2024 05:56]

ADEN - SABA
Minister of Oil and Minerals Saeed al-Shammasi discussed Monday here with the Head of the European Union Commission Gabriel Vinales and Ambassadors of Franc Catherin Cammon and Netherlands Jeannette Seppen aspects of partnership and cooperation between the two parties.

Minister al-Shammasi commended the continued support of the European Union countries, discussing with EU commission challenges facing oil and gas sectors over the stop of gas exports since April 2015 and stop of oil exports over Houthi terrorist militia's attacks on oil establishments in October 2022, as well as government's efforts of addressing repercussions of the attacks on humanitarian and economic levels.

He pointed out to commitment of the government on supplying all provinces, including areas under Houthi militia's control, with oil derivatives and gas despite their ban of entrance of oil derivatives from Aden Refineries and gas from Safir and their dependence of imported gas and oil derivatives from Iran without examining their quality.

He pointed out to Houthi terrorist militia's threats to the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden and their impacts on increasing prices of oil derivatives and different goods.

For their part, the EU Commission confirmed full support to the internationally-recognized government and to efforts of realizing peace in Yemen, expressing appreciation to Yemeni government's keenness on achieving peace and ending suffering of Yemeni people.

They welcomed joint and active work with the ministry of oil and minerals to activate investment opportunities in fields of energy.
