Coast guards rescue 26 African migrants off Yemeni coasts

The Yemeni coast guards in the Red Sea managed today, Sunday, to rescue 26 migrants of African nationalities after their boat sank in international waters off the Mocha coasts , western Yemen.

The boat was carrying 75 migrants including women while 49 of them are still missing.

A source in the coast guard told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba)"The boat sank due to strong winds that made the captain unable to control the boat over the high waves.

The source added that the search and rescue operations are still ongoing and the survivors have been provided with necessary care.

He expressed sorrow for this tragic incident, warning of the risks of illegal migration, calling on the immigrants to be careful of the criminal trafficking networks that risking their lives.
